The ABR2 Project focuses on completing the remaining works permitted as part of the original ABR Project as follows:

1. Final phase of dredging within Alexandra Basin West, including treatment of sediment.
2. Infilling of the Terminal 5 (Berths 52/53) basin using treated material.
3. Raising yard levels at Terminal 5 to support the future Unified Ferry Terminal (already permitted under the MP2 Project).

No expansion beyond the existing port footprint is proposed. 

Some elements of the original ABR Project are not now being pursued and have been excluded by a separate planning consent received from ACP in mid-2025. These omissions reduce the scope of the original project significantly and include the proposed demolition of a substantial part of the North Wall Quay Extension, and associated works. In addition, as part of this application it is not now proposed to proceed with the excavation and restoration of Graving Dock 1 , which will remain preserved and in situ. Any future proposals concerning Graving Dock 1 will form the basis of a separate consent at the appropriate time.
